Wonder if there is a smartphone that could match up to the battery life of phones from the last decade? Then wonder no more. Enter the Gionee Marathon M3; a phone with a massive 5000mAh battery that has up to 32.8 days of standby time.
Gionee, a Chinese phone manufacturer, recently unveiled the dual-SIM Marathon M3 in India. While the battery is huge, the Marathon M3 itself isn’t exactly a high-spec phone. Having a 5-inch 720p IPS screen, powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek processor, the Marathon M3 sits comfortably in the mid-range market.
It is standard specifications everywhere else: 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory (expandable through the MicroSD card slot), 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The Marathon M3 has a dimension of 144.5 x 71.45 x 10.4 mm; which is not as sleek as the Gionee Elife S5.1, the former thinnest smartphone in the world (a title the Oppo R5 holds now).
So far, the phone has only been launched in India for 12999 INR (RM705). No word yet of the phone’s availability outside of India.
