Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, has stated that the new Apple Watch will be released after Chinese New Year; sometime in the spring of 2015.
Ahrendts mentioned the launch time frame in a video message to retail employees. In the transcript of the message, Ahrendts was quoted as saying, “we’re going into the holidays, we’ll go into Chinese New Year, and then we’ve got a new watch launch coming in the spring.”
Chinese New Year is on 19th February next year, a celebration that usually lasts for a month; not to mention that China (where the factories are located) shuts down for two weeks for the festival. With that in mind, it is likely then that we might see the Apple Watch launching sometime in April 2015 if their early 2015 launch window is still on track.
