Samsung has just taken the curtains off its first B2B tablet called the Galaxy Tab Active. It is a ruggedized tablet that is built especially for business use, allowing users to bring the tablet around for work no matter how tough the conditions can be.
The Galaxy Tab Active is a mid-range Android tablet featuring an 8” WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT LCD display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It’s an LTE-enabled device so you can stay connected to high-speed internet wherever you go and even make calls and send SMS.
But what makes the Galaxy Tab Active special isn’t its specs. The Galaxy Tab Active is a rugged device that is not only dust and water resistant, it is also shock-proof as it is able to withstand a 1.2meter drop, when you put on its protective casing. This makes it perfect for those who travel around frequently for work, and gets exposed to harsh and rugged conditions.
Other specs include Android 4.4 KitKat, 3.1MP rear camera, 1,2MP front camera, 4,450mAh removable battery, measures at 126.2 x 213.1 x 9.75mm, and weighs 393 grams. The Galaxy Tab Active will hit our local shelves right in time for Christmas (early December), and the variant we are getting is the 16GB Wi-Fi + LTE unit. Retailing at RM1,599, it is bundled together with a protective cover and Samsung C-Pen, and is available in Titanium Green.
