As most of you will now, OnePlus will be pitching its flag in Malaysia very soon. The company posted a job opening for a General Manager for Malaysia, and behind the scenes the company is already doing plenty of things ahead of its impending arrival to the country. Now that an official launch is edging closer, OnePlus is now looking to reach out to its Malaysian fans and users.
For starters, the company – which already has a special section in its forums for Malaysian fans – announced that it will be holding a fan gathering this Saturday in Subang Jaya, where fans will be able to meet with OnePlus reps and naturally be able to check out the “2014 flagship killer“, which is the company’s first smartphone called the One. It is likely that the company will use this gathering to not only meet up with what is actually a pretty substantial user base in the country, but also to make some important announcements regarding OnePlus’ plans for the country. Slots for the gathering sold out very quickly, within hours after the announcement was posted on Saturday evening.
On top of that, the company’s official Facebook page for its Malaysian fans has also just gone live. To date, the company has also just set up a OnePlus India Facebook account, besides its main Facebook page with over 420,000 fans. This is likely due to allow the company to release information specific for the Malaysian and Indian markets, and also for quicker updates and replies to queries from fans via its social media page. Fans are encouraged to follow this page for updates on the company’s announcements for the Malaysian page.
Things are certainly going according to plan for OnePlus and its work in the country, and from what we hear it appears the company looks set to be ready by the end of the year.
