When ASUS Malaysia revealed the price of this particular product to local media members last month, almost everyone there could not believe what they have just heard. How come such a device which features a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 5-inch full HD IPS display is priced at only RM 899?
For whatever reasons that might be, we believe many consumers will appreciate such price tag. If you are one of them, then you might want to note that the ASUS Padfone S is now available in Malaysia starting from this week onwards according to Dynamics Distribution Sdn Bhd who is responsible for distributing ASUS smartphones and tablets in Malaysia.
Originally announced at Computex Taipei earlier this year, the device was supposed to arrive in our market last month but somehow, the release was delayed to this week instead. Apart from featuring a high-end processor, ample amount of RAM and full HD display, the Padfone S also carries together 13-megapixels rear camera, 2-megapixels front camera, 16GB internal storage, LTE connectivity and 2300mAh battery.
At the same time, the PadStation for Padfone S which allows the smartphone to be converted into a tablet with a 9-inch 1920 x 1200 Super IPS display is also now in Malaysia. Additionally, it is also equipped with 1-megapixel front camera and 4990mAh battery. At the time being, ASUS Malaysia does not intend to offer them together in a bundle which means users need to purchase separately for RM 499.
