Just in time for the upcoming final rounds of AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 that will take place later this month, Nike Malaysia today has unveiled the latest kit for our national football team. In terms of colorways, the new home and away jersey for Harimau Malaya still remain the same as their predecessors that were released in 2012 but of course, there are still quite a number of differences.
Claimed to be inspired by the national team’s home jersey from 1958, the new home jersey now features narrower stripes and a red tip on its round collar. The away jersey receives even more changes as compared to its previous iteration as it no longer features silhouette-style stripes. Instead, it is now in full blue with a red border on its sleeves together with the addition of a new polo style collar.
At the same time, the font for “Tanahnya Tumpahnya Darahku” slogan on both jerseys has also been changed to a slightly more modern font. However, their construction material remain the same as their Dri-FIT material are actually made from 96% recycled polyester.
Priced at RM 249 each, both 2014 Harimau Malaya’s home and away jerseys are available immediately from Nike Stores in Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC and Sunway Pyramid as well as TFC branches in Lot 10 and Pertama Complex together with Al-Ikhsan KL Festival City. The new kit will also be released at other retailers tomorrow, 1 November.
Meanwhile, Harimau Malaya fans are welcome to visit Nike Store in Pavilion KL to write messages for the team on the special message board at the store before they embarked on their AFF 2014 mission which will start in November in a match against Myanmar. The board will be around for the next two weeks, so make your way there to show your support for Harimau Malaya.
