If you’re not already aware, two of the three major telcos in Malaysia started their pre-order campaigns for the brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus at 12.01 am today. If you were one of the many who stayed up late to get your pre-order in, you might have been a little disappointed to find the Maxis and DiGi online stores (and main sites) inaccessible as soon as the pre-order pages went live. Celcom’s website remained operational, but that’s simply because the telco opted not to open pre-orders, and instead had begun taking Registration of Interest (ROI) since last week.
At time of posting, both Maxis and DiGi online stores remain inaccessible, or painfully slow to load. We can confirm from one of our failed attempts to access the store that both the entry level packages for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the Maxis Store has been marked as sold out. While Maxis’ online store continues to struggle to handle the traffic, DiGi’s site has slowly recovered and will still allow you to pre-order the new iPhones – you’ll just need to be a little patient.
DiGi’s main site blurted out HTML code under intense traffic at about 12:45am
