Lenovo has a fitness band planned for release at some point, and it has quietly revealed the device on its official website. No big announcements were made concerning the wearable, which appears to look resemble the Razer Nabu. It’s currently called the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100, although we hope that the name changes to something a little catchier when it finally appears in the market.
It has the traditional fitness band functions of tracking distance, steps, heart rate, and sleep. Which isn’t too out there, although Lenovo has apparently included the ability for the SW-B100 to unlock a PC without a password. Details are light, but it appears to work by simply bringing the fitness band close to the machine. The good news is that the fitness band will pair with Windows based computers as well as both Android and iOS devices. Windows Phone is oddly still left out of the list, although it could that Microsoft’s efforts with Windows 10 may remedy this situation.
There is still not pricing or release date available for the Lenovo Smartband, but it should be reasonably close to being market ready if it is already on the website.
