After rumours of Microsoft ridding of the Nokia branding on its phones, it seems that Microsoft has finally spoken out and the rumours were indeed true. Through subtle hints such as being redirected to Microsoft owned sites after entering some official Nokia sites, Microsoft has said that their mobile phones will be rebranded as Microsoft Lumia from now on.
Nokia France was the first to announce on Facebook that it had adopted the branding shift to “Microsoft Lumia” for its social media outlets Facebook and Twitter. With the rebranding of its mobile products, this means that the latest Lumia phones, the Lumia730/735 and Lumia 830 will probably be the last Windows smartphones to bear the Nokia branding.
This is one of the first steps in slowly phasing out the Nokia name after Microsoft purchased the Finnish-based company in 2013 which was finalised in April 2014 for US$7.2Billion. (RM23,575,320,000)
