If you are disappointed because HTC didn’t announce the rumored HTC One (M8 Eye) that comes with a 13MP Duo Camera, don’t be. Not only has the device been confirmed, it is available for reservation right now in China.
As seen in the rumors, the HTC One (M8 Eye) will be identical with the HTC One (M8), but instead of a 4MP UltraPixel Duo Camera, HTC has swapped it with a 13MP camera sensor. All the wonders of a Duo Camera will still work in the same way as the original One (M8). If you recall in our review, the HTC One (M8) is a great device overall but its performance has been dampened by the 4MP UltraPixel camera, so a 13MP rear shooter is definitely a welcomed change.
Like the HTC One (M8), this new variant features a 5” Full HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB if internal storage. Other specs include the new 13MP Duo Camera at the back and a 5MP camera at the front, 2600mAh built-in battery and LTE connectivity.
The HTC One (M8 Eye) is now available for reservation in China for 3,999 Yuan (about RM2,130), quite a bit cheaper than the HTC One (M8) in China that retails at 4,699 Yuan (RM2,502). The One (M8 Eye) is reported to be heading to India as well, anyone keeping their fingers crossed that it will be launched in Malaysia?
