It looks like the Sony Xperia E3 isn’t the only new thing offered by Sony Malaysia. The company is currently having a Deepavali promotion and if you take a very close look at its promotional poster, you will see that the Xperia M2 Aqua is now available in Malaysia at a retail price of RM999.
You don’t have to pay a premium price to own a waterproof smartphone like the Xperia Z series, the Xperia M2 Aqua is a mid-range waterproof smartphone that is a lot cheaper than Sony’s flagship smartphones. The Xperia M2 Aqua is identical with the Xperia M2, except that it has a water-resistant body that allows you to take it along to the shower, or take it for a dip in the pool too.
It features a 4.8” qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960. On the insides, it is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics on board and 1GB of RAM. Other specs include an 8MP rear camera with Sony’s suite of creative Xperia camera apps, LTE connectivity, 2300mAh battery with STAMINA mode, NFC, 8GB of expndable storage and will run on Android 4.4 out of the box.
With this latest addition, Sony now has three different Xperia M2 devices with the original Xperia M2 (LTE) going for RM939, a single SIM 3G variant going for RM799, and the latest Xperia M2 Aqua going for RM999. As part of an on-going Deepavali promotion, Sony Malaysia is offering extra freebies when you purchase selected Xperia smartphones from the company so check out their Facebook page for more information.
