Microsoft’s acquisition of Minecraft has now begun to bring some interesting news. Lead developer Jens Bergensten Tweeted that there is a version of the hit game for Windows Phone in the works. The port is apparently already up and running, although there is apparently still a lot of work to be done before it goes live.
This news follows the announcement of Minecraft: Pocket Edition arriving on the PS Vita later this week. The 15 October release date only applies to European owners of the Vita, although Mojang usually manages to roll out the game to the rest of the world within a couple of months.
Yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition *is* coming to the Windows Phone! The port runs already, but there's still much to do before any release

Mincraft: Pocket Edition for Windows Phone is a logical progression for the company, as it has already branched out to both Android and iOS back in 2011. It could be that new owners Microsoft has nothing to do with the unofficial announcement of the new version as Minecraft is trying to end up on every PC, console, smartphone, and tablet.
