Jabra Evolve

Workplace distraction is a small annoyance that the modern employee has to put up with to maintain productivity. Jabra believes that it has found the solution to this problem by introducing the new Evolve line of professional headsets. They will produce a personal “concentration zone” using advanced noise-cancellation technology, making it impossible to hear what is going on around the office.

The series comprises five headsets, the 20, 30, 40, 65, and 80. These numbers don’t actually indicate anything other than how expensive the particular product is. The 20, 30, and 40 are generally standard issue professional headsets built to Jabra’s own demanding specifications.

On the other hand, the Jabra Evolve 65 is a wireless Bluetooth headset that is meant to double as a regular pair of headphones for entertainment purposes. It features up to 10 hours of battery life, and is able to connect using NFC technology. The microphone can be folded away into the headband to turn the Evolve 65 into a more lifestyle suited accessory, although it is unlikely anyone will worry too must about the type of headset you are wearing in public. It is also capable of a dual connection between a PC and smartphone, allowing it to take calls while also playing music from a computer.

The Evolve 80 is Jabra’s flagship model for the series and features the advanced noise-cancellation technology that is the centre-piece of the entire line. To allow worker to hear people talking to them without having to remove the headset, the Evolve 80 also has a “listen-in” function that shuts the noise cancellation off with a touch of a button. There is also a red LED ring to indicate that the user is busy and should not be disturbed; whether this actually works in an office is another matter. Although it is likely the employee in question will be unable to hear anything to begin with.
