Earlier today, Sony Malaysia announced three new headphones for our market in the form of the Sony MDR-XB950BT, Sony MDR-ZX550BN and the Sony MDR-AS800BT. Designed for music lovers and sports enthusiast, all three wireless Bluetooth headphones that also come equipped with NFC capability and built-in microphones.
Being the first Bluetooth model in Sony’s Extra Bass range headphones, the Sony MDR-XB950BT comes with 40mm driver units that are made from high magnetic density neodymium magnets which Sony claims is able to deliver a deep sub-bass wobble. users can also push the bass levels further using the Electro Bass Booster feature on the headphone.
This headphone is also outfitted with ergonomic ear pads that features soft-designed cushion which Sony claims is designed for many a wide range of head shapes. In the event of a depleted battery, users can still use the Sony MDR-XB950BT as a wired passive headphone.
Next up on the list is the Sony MDR-ZX550BN noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones which is equipped with a pair of 30mm drivers.
Mainly designed for users on the go, the headphone also features a swivel design that allows it to be stored easily. To add onto that, the MDR-ZX550BN also has up to 25 hours of battery life even with noise-cancelling and Bluetooth turned on as claimed by Sony.
Last but not least, the Sony MDR-AS800BT wireless sports Bluetooth in-ear headphones is geared towards sports-oriented users. Besides that, the in-ear headphones conform to the IPX4 standard which means it is able to withstand water splashes but unfortunately, these in-ear headphones were not built for swimming.
The headphones can be worn conventionally or over the ear, and also comes with three interchangeable Arc Supporters of different sizes that are designed to fit a variety of ear curves.
The new MDR-XB950BT, MDR-ZX550BN and MDR-AS800BT will be available by the end of October and will retail for RM650, RM449 and RM499 respectively.
