Yesterday, details about the next generation iPad Air (iPad Air 2) was posted online, but why describe something when you can actually see it with your own eyes. Images claiming to be the iPad Air 2 also made their way to the web, showing off a very slim design and a missing mute switch.
These pictures first appeared in a Vietnamese blog, Tinhte.vn. Like what we read yesterday, the iPad Air 2 will indeed be much slimmer than before and in order to achieve that slimness, Apple has to remove the mute switch and use the same recessed volume button style as the iPhone 6.
Apart from that, the iPad Air 2 also has a Touch ID-like home button, most likely suggesting that the next generation iPad will indeed have TouchID on board. It’s a dummy unit, so there’s no telling for sure. Tinhte also posted a video showing off the dummy iPad Air 2 but has since been removed so we’re left with only pictures.
Apple has already confirmed its 16 October 2014 event late last night. Apart from the iPad Air 2, the Cupertino company is expected to unveil the iPad mini 3, iMac with Retina Display, release the final version of Mac OS X Yosemite, and since the invitation says “It’s been way too long”, the Apple product that hasn’t been updated for a very long time is the Apple TV so let’s see if Apple will have any surprise there for us.
