In this day and age, smartphone makers are also planning to foray further into mobile gadgets or more specifically, smartwatches. Motorola has one, LG has two to boot; even Apple has already begun treading into the territories of smartwatches. But not smartphone giant HTC. Well, not yet at least.
HTC seems to be content with not entering the fray just yet as a spokesperson from HTC has said that it doesn’t seem like anyone has gotten the idea of a smartwatch just right. At around this time of the year, HTC were poised to unveil their own smartwatch but later decided against it.
That doesn’t mean HTC has scrapped the idea for good already though. The Taiwanese manufacturer stated that they still have plans to produce an electronic wearable after the initial battle between other tech giants for smartwatch supremacy has settled. Adding onto that, HTC also said that they want to produce a smartwatch that is capable of being a clear-cut winner right from the get-go.
This decision to withdraw plans of releasing a smartwatch could be a small victory for HTC however. What with the abundance of Android-based smartwatches and Apple’s own iOS-based smartwatches already saturating the market, It may just be best for HTC to see how the events unfold.
