Remember the “something remarkable” event HTC teased for 8 October 2014? Well, it looks like they will have more to show off apart from what looks like an action cam – the company might be unveiling not just one, but two smartphones on the same day.
The company recently posted a teaser on their Facebook page with a HTC One (M8)-like device and the text “10.08”. The caption says “in two days, we’re bringing the future into sharper focus” and while nothing else has been said about the photo, it is believed that it could be the HTC One (M8 Eye) that we’ve been reading about over the past few weeks. The device is believed to be identical with the HTC One (M8) but instead of a 4MP UltraPixel camera, it will be a 13MP one.
But that’s not all, a couple of days ago, several images claiming to be the leaked press pictures of a HTC Desire Eye were posted onto the internet. As the name suggests, it’s a camera-centric device that will not only have a 13MP rear camera, it will also have the same camera sensor on the front. There are quite a number of selfie smartphones out there but if true, it means that the HTC Desire Eye will be the first to use a 13MP sensor on the front camera. The Oppo N1 can also take 13MP selfies but it uses the same camera while the HTC Desire Eye has got two 13MP shooters on a single device. On top of that, it is believed that the HTC Desire Eye will have auto-focus and dual-LED flash on the front as well.
As for the specs, the Desire Eye should pack a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM, a 5.2” Full HD display and IPX7 waterproof rating. It looks like HTC is about to take selfies to a whole new level and I must say, the device does look pretty great too.
