No thanks to the whole “bendgate” issue on the iPhone 6 Plus, the internet is now filled with stress test videos by individuals and even by phone manufacturers. We’ve seen some of Apple’s stress test, Consumer Reports released their own “official” tests, Samsung showed off its Galaxy Note 4 in a test, and now it’s OnePlus’ turn.
Watch the OnePlus One get sit on by 25kg weight, tumbled around, dropped, pushed and more in this official video released by the Chinese company. Unfortunately, unlike the ones we’ve seen, there are no proper bend test in this video, all OnePlus does is stimulate a 25kg weight sitting on the phone on a soft surface – no 3 point bend test. The device will also be dropped from 1.2 meters, rained on and even put through heat of 55 Celsius for 4 hours.
Sadly, the video doesn’t show whether the devices survived those tests, but according to OnePlus, these tests don’t alter the handset’s functionality. The OnePlus One has been around quite some months already but is still very hard to get your hands on one, unless you’re willing to pay big bucks for it of course. Let’s hope that OnePlus will find a General Manager here in Malaysia soon so they can start their operations here as fast as they can.
