Google just turned 16 on the 27th September 2014 and it looks like they might have hinted on the name for Android L in their birthday cake posted onto the official Google+ page. On their sweet 16 post, Google posted a picture of a rainbow layered cake and among the decoration are lots of lollipops and possibly some liquorice as well.
There are a few possibilities here of course, but the one that stands out the most is definitely the lollipops. With a caption that asks “why do we put candles on birthday cakes?”, the focus seems to be on all the lollipops that hogs up the top of the cake.
The 27th isn’t Google’s birthday actually. The company Google was actually incorporated on 7 September but they switch their birthday to 27th since 2005 because it’s the date when Google announced the number of webpages are indexed.
So, what dessert do you think the “L” in Android L represent? Lemon meringue pie as it was previously believed to be? Lollipop? Liquorcie? Layered cake? Let us know!
