Since it has almost been year after the release GoPro HERO3+, we believe that there are many users out there feel that the time is now ripe for the company to unleash a brand new model into the market. If you are one of them, you should be delighted for this news then: HERO4 is confirmed, according to a major set of info that was leaked out earlier today.
Apparently, the upcoming HERO4 will be introducing 4K video recording at 30fps and built-in touch display to the family. However, both features will not be made available in the same camera which is quite sneaky of the company to be frank.
Just like previous models, the HERO4 will be released in several variants. The lead model in the series is the HERO4 Black (shown above) which apparently features better processor than its predecessors and brings together improved image quality as well as audio capture. With waterproof capability of up to the depth of 40m, it is able to snap 12-megapixels photos and shoot 4K videos, both at 30fps.
At the same time, there’s also the HERO4 Silver (shown below) which is the model that comes with the built-in touch display. It is the first GoPro model to feature such feature and with the display, users are given the ability to control the camera, frame shots, and review content directly on the camera itself.
However, HERO4 Silver‘s 4K video recording capability is limited to 15fps although it is still able to snap 12-megapixels still photos at 30fps just like HERO4 Black. For those that already own plenty of GoPro mounts and accessories, don’t worry: both HERO4 Black and Silver are compatible with them.
As for pricing, they are not included as part of the leaked info for today. However, you don’t have to wait long to obtain the info anyway since it has been said that both GoPro HERO4 will likely to be announced on 8 October which is barely two weeks away.
