Another year, another record broken. Apple has just announced that it sold over 10 million units of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in just three days, breaking all previous sales records. The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are without a doubt two of the hottest devices in the market right now, with people paying up to a whopping RM7,800 just to get one.
“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders a quickly as possible.” – Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were just launched into the market last Friday, 19 September 2014. It is available only in a handful of countries including US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK. These new iPhones will roll out worldwide to more than 20 additional countries on 26 September and sorry, Malaysia isn’t in the list; I guess we’re behind Liechtenstein again. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Apple will finally consider us in the next iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch after this.
