It look like the major telcos in Malaysia are not the only ones offering the Xiaomi Redmi Note in Malaysia. redONE, the first MVNO postpaid operator in Malaysia is also offering the phablet from the Chinese company at only RM240. The catch? A contract of course, but at a slightly more affordable price compared to the major players out there.
Unlike what the others are offering, you will be tied to a contract for only one year with a pretty low monthly commitment of RM48 a month. The bundle comes with 2GB of data, and the commitment fee of RM8 offers free unlimited calls within the redOne network.
Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Redmi Note bundle from redONE is only available for new and existing redONE subscribers. Those who wish to port-in to the network are not eligible for the bundle, and according to redONE, “MNP customers can only purchase at RRP RM529” – we have no idea where that extra RM20 came from.
Check out redONE for more information about their bundle, or visit our previous post to find out more about the phablet and to see how it stacks up against other smartphones in its class.
