Said to take place mainly since yesterday, a significant number of customers are reporting service disruptions to their Yes 4G Internet connections. These complaints can be seen publically on Yes 4G’s Facebook page as well as on Twitter and have also been reported on our forums.
While we have no idea on how extensive the service disruptions were, a quick check throughout these complaints showed that it happened not only in the Klang Valley, but also Kedah, Melaka, Johor, Kelantan, and Pahang. We tried to obtain the service’s real-time network status from YesCare (the ISP’s customer service), but the only answer we received was a pre-recorded audio playback that stated “service maintenance”. Since YesCare does not operate after 5pm on Sunday, we were not able to speak to the ISP’s customer service personnel in order to obtain actual answers.
Then, it was only slightly after 7:00pm that Yes 4G has finally announced through Facebook and Twitter that the ISP is indeed facing network disruptions in selected locations and its network is now being restored in stages. A further quick check through both social network shown that affected customers have indeed begun to be able to connect to their Yes 4G service.
So, were you affected by the network outage? Do let us know in the comments section below, together with the duration of disruption as well as your location.
