Sony’s Xperia Z3 may be the star of the show, but the Japanese company hasn’t forgotten the market that is looking for something more affordable. The Sony Xperia E3 is a smaller, and less powerful, version of the flagship smartphone. It also comes in more colours for those who decide that variety is something that they would like to have.
At 4.5-inches the Xperia E3 is rather small by modern standards, although it is big enough to serve most purposes. The front is dominated by the 854 x 480 display, which isn’t going to break records any time soon. Inside is a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a 2330mAh battery. Overall, it looks to be a solidly midrange phone; if that term has any meaning after the recent glut of cheap Xiaomi devices.
How this performs is entirely up to the how Sony decides to price the Xperia E3. Anything too ambitious and it could doom this phone to obscurity; but with the right price point it could easily become a nice entry level device for parents who want something inexpensive to give to the kids.
That being said, there is no pricing or release information about the Xperia E3 at the moment.
