You’ve seen the press shots of the unannounced Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, now, make way for its larger sibling – the Xperia Z3. Pictures claiming to be press image of the next flagship smartphone from Sony have recently made their way to the internet, showing off the device in brand new colour options. The pictures also shows off a wearable device with an e-ink display.
On top of the usual black and white colour options, it looks like Sony will be ditching its purple coloured smartphones, opting for green and copper instead. Just a reminder, the Z3 Compact also comes in new colour options that are different from the existing Z1 Compact.
No further information have been given about the Xperia Z3, but if you’ve been following the leaks we’ve shared so far, including the one posted earlier today with the QX1 camera, the device here is in line with the designs we’ve seen so far. The Z3 looks similar to the current Z2 with a glass for the front and back panel, however, instead of the usual squarish look, Sony has decided to give the sides a more rounded look (as with the Z3 Compact).
Finally, if you zoom in on the picture with a lady holding a copper Xperia Z3, you’ll see that she’s wearing something on her wrist with an e-ink display – a new wearable from Sony perhaps? There’s a Lifelog app logo on it too so it will most probably be a wearable that not only tracks your fitness, but also your life.
The Xperia Z3 is rumoured to come with a 5.2” Full HD Triluminos display. Powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, it has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. As for the camera, the Z3 will come with a 20MP rear camera that is capable of capturing images with an ISO of up to 12,800, double what the Z2 offers. Other specs include a thinner body of 7.5mm (vs 8.2mm on the Z2), 3,100mAh battery, water-resistant design that is hopefully much better than before, as well as LTE connectivity. Sony’s event is scheduled for later today (10pm Malaysian time), so stay tuned for the announcements.
