So far, we have seen two ASUS Zenfone 5 variant in Malaysia. One being the original delayed launch unit with 8GB internal storage and the second variant is the 16GB model which was released into the market recently.
Well, ready or not, here comes the third variant: the LTE-enabled ASUS Zenfone 5, originally announced at Computex 2014 two months ago.
Even though the Zenfone 5 LTE might looked similar to its non-LTE variants, the smartphone is actually powered by a different processor. Instead of the Intel Atom Z2560 processor in other variants, the Zenfone 5 LTE is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 processor which runs at a maximum speed of 1.2GHz and contains four ARM Cortex-A7 cores as its CPU.
There is also a 450MHz Adreno 305 GPU within the processor. Other features that are available in the Zenfone 5 LTE are similar to the non-LTE variants though which include the 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8-megapixel PixelMaster rear camera, 2-megapixels front camera and 2110mAh battery.
According to Dynamics Distribution which handles the retail distribution for ASUS mobile products in Malaysia, the Zenfone 5 LTE which is also known by its model name A500KL is priced at RM 709. The company didn’t announce the exact availability date of the device in the market but nevertheless, expect it to pop up at retail stores soon enough.
