Calling all of you who purchased your iPhone 5 between September 2012 and January 2013, your phone might have a faulty battery and Apple wants to replace it for free. The company recently opened up an iPhone 5 battery replacement program and if you’re eligible for it, you can visit a participating Apple Authorized Service Provider in Malaysia to have it replaced for free.
To know if your iPhone 5 is eligible for the battery replacement program, visit this link (https://ssl.apple.com/my/support/iphone5-battery/) and select Malaysia as your country. Search for the serial number of your iPhone 5 and key it in in the website to see if your device is eligible for the replacement. Replacement process will be available in Malaysia as of 29 August 2014 and will be available in participating Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Don’t be too worried though if your iPhone 5 was really purchased between the dates, according to Apple, only “a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices” were affected, whereby the devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently. If your iPhone 5 is one of them, do give it a back up first and turn off Find my iPhone. Visit the iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program now to find out more.
