Chinese phone maker ZTE has launched its new mid-range phone, called the Nubia 5S Mini LTE. While its previous products have never really been exceptional, the 5S Mini LTE could prove to be a new beginning for ZTE – and it seems to know it, too: the 5S Mini LTE will be available in the US market for pre-order.

The ZTE Nubia 5S Mini LTE boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core 1.2 GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, a 4.7 inch Sharp IGZO display a 13MP rear camera with a sapphire lens and F2.2 aperture, and a 5MP front facing camera. There’s also 16GB internal memory which can be expanded with up to 32GB microSD cards. On the downside, the phone is powered by a small 2000 mAh battery and the phone also runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean instead of 4.4 KitKat. However, one interesting feature on this device is the DTS sound for a more immersive music experience for music lovers.
What is interesting about this phone is that it carries a relatively cheap price tag for an LTE phone. For US$280 (about RM886), this phone is considered a bargain, especially considering the unlocked prices of phones in the US. Unfortunately there’s no news on a release for other international markets yet, but if you’re willing, you make pre-order the ZTE Nubia 5S Mini starting 27 August on Amazon and have it shipped this side of the world.
