It looks like DiGi isn’t the only telco to start offering the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Celcom is now offering the budget Android phone from the Chinese company for free when you sign up for a contract under one of its postpaid plans. If it’s not your cup of tea, the telco also added the Acer Liquid Z4 to its phone bundles for free.
In order to get these devices for free from Celcom, you’ll need to sign up for a 24 months contract under one of its postpaid plans. Get the Redmi 1S with a Celcom First Prime voice plan along with mBasic data plan, or the Acer Liquid Z4 with a Celcom First Data Lite + Voice plan. The breakdown of the plans are as shown below:
Retailing at RM419, the Redmi 1S is a mid-range Android smartphone from the Chinese company. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage on board. It has a 4.7” 720p display, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and a 2,000mAh battery on board.
Acer Liquid Z4 on the other hand is a lower-end Android smartphone that retails at RM349. It features a 4” display and is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Other specs include dual-SIM capability, Android 4.2.2 and has a 5MP camera at its back.
