While the Moto 360 smartwatch may be getting all the attention, Motorola also appears to be working on releasing a new phone. A set of benchmarks from this mystery device points to a refresh to the Moto G, a mid-range smartphone that was announced in November last year.
Carrying a XT1063 model number, this mystery device was spotted in the GFXBench benchmark scores. As mentioned earlier, this device is likely to be a refresh to the Moto G, with some changes to the old hardware, such as a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a 8MP rear and 2MP front facing camera. As a comparison, the current Moto G features a 4.5-inch display with the same resolution and a 5MP rear and 1.3 MP front camera.
Other details mentioned in the benchmark shows that the device is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, has 1 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 4.5GB with no confirmation on the actual storage capacity. There were no details regarding the battery, but it should be a larger capacity from the Moto G considering the larger display.
