As reported in our previous article earlier today, we have recently stumbled upon the newly announced Nokia Lumia 530 in SIRIM’s database. The appearance of the device in the listing generally showed that Microsoft is ready to release it in our market.
True enough, we have then received an invite (shown above) for the official launch of Nokia Lumia 530 from Microsoft Mobile Devices in Malaysia just hours after our reports went live.
Specifically, Microsoft Mobile Devices will officially launch Nokia Lumia 530 for our market on 12 August as stated in the press invite. While the press invite didn’t specifically mentioned Lumia 530’s name outright, the focus subject of the launch is rather obvious as the invite features the same Lumia 530 press image as shown below. Do note that this doesn’t mean the new smartphone will be made available at retailers on the same day though but nevertheless, one can expect to see it at Nokia retailers really soon.
The arrival of Lumia 530 roughly completes the first group of new Windows Phone 8.1 / Lumia Cyan products in our market since the Lumia 530 is designed for entry-level market while the Lumia 930 caters the high-end market and Lumia 630 balances itself in the lower mid-range segment.
Of course, we still believe that there are still plenty of products under Microsoft’s sleeves since the company has yet to reveal the follow up to Lumia 820 and Lumia 720 as well as the yet-to-be-named product line-up that will be derived from Nokia X series.
Do stay tuned for further details on the new Nokia Lumia 530 coming your way on 12 August such as initial hands-on experience, first impressions, public availability and pricing. Alternatively, you can check out its technical specs over at nokia.com.
