Good news for those of you who use the Microsoft Office app on your iPad, the company has just given your favorite app a much needed update, bringing the ability to export to PDF, support for third-party fonts, video playback support and more.
First up, users are now allowed to export to PDF. The feature is available in the Share menu and is available to everyone, even those who do not have an Office 365 subscription. Other improvements include new tools to edit pictures within Office for iPad allowing you to Crop or Reset the image. Simply use your finger to select where you’d like to crop, and if you don’t like the edits you’ve done to the image, hit Reset to remove everything. Office for iPad can also recognize and allow users to use any third-party fonts that have been installed into your iPad. These changes are available throughout Office for iPad products.
PowerPoint
Presentation has gotten a whole lot easier and more interactive as well. Microsoft updated its PowerPoint app with Presenter View, audio and video playback and more. This means that when projecting to another screen, you will be able to see all your notes and more in Presenter View.
This update also brings the ability for users to insert videos directly from Camera Roll, allowing them to quickly record, embed and present interactive content all in a single space. Other PowerPoint updates include a new eraser and pen setting, and the ability to edit hyperlinks right within the app.
Excel
Last but not least as for Excel users, the app now comes with interaction with Pivot Tables, easier grid navigation, and more print options. Users can now sort, filter, expand and collapse, show details and even refresh Pivot Tables.
With a new flick gesture, simply grab the selection handle, flick it in any direction, and Excel will automatically select from where you started to the next blank cell, making it a whole lot easier for you to select the data you want.
Now that’s what I call an app update. Visit Microsoft to find out more about the update and the changes it brings, or head on to the App Store to download the updated Office for iPad now.
