It looks like keying in passwords in iOS would soon be a thing in the past. Last month, 1Password, a popular password and security management app, demonstrated how its app would work on iOS 8, complete with Touch ID support and now, the company is demonstrating how 1Password works with third-party apps on Apple’s next mobile operation system update.
The demonstration is done on AgileBits and shows just how easy it is for users to retrieve their password and be able to log in with just a touch of a button. 1Password can fill in login credentials automatically for apps as well as for web pages in iOS 8.
“Thanks to Apple’s incredible new developer features in iOS 8, third-party apps can let 1Password fill Logins without the user ever leaving the app. Yep, complete with Touch ID for unlocking the vault. Yep, it’s this awesome.”
Developers can easily use 1Password for the “one-tap Login goodness” simply by accessing the 1Password App Extention on GitHub for the documentation and sample code.
While this may not be something new in the mobile industry, it’s definitely good to see Apple opening up and making things a lot easier for developers and users. Check out the video demonstration on AgileBits.
