Another company has seemingly confirmed the next-generation iPhone 6’s design and screen size. This time, it is from a company specialised at making customised “luxury” versions of consumer smartphones, offering another detailed look at the iPhone 6…lovingly encased all over with luxurious materials like gold, platinum and of course, diamonds.
Brikk, a company specialised in crafting luxury cases and jewelry, has announced the Lux iPhone 6 line, offering 14 “luxury models” of Apple’s upcoming flagship smartphone. While it isn’t uncommon for some companies to offer a luxurious take on some high-end devices, Brikk has taken the strange decision of announcing a lineup of customised devices based on a device that isn’t even confirmed yet.
The Lux iPhone 6 line will feature 14 variants, offering custom iPhone 6 models with 128GB of storage with a variety of precious materials to choose from. Users can go for the standard 24K gold plating, a more feminine 24K pink gold plating, or a more sleek pure platinum body. Those looking for more bling can also embellish the Apple logo at the back with diamond crusts.
The company has also released final retail prices for the 14 models: starting from $4495 (about RM14,300) for the gold models, you can go all out and splurge $8795 (almost RM28,000) on the platinum-plated, diamond-encrusted iPhone 6. But, since the device isn’t out yet, you can make a non-refundable pre-order deposit of $500 (around RM1,600).
On the other hand, Brikk also has a hard-to-find disclaimer that can only be found in the pre-order page: the company “does not guarantee the specs of the phone or the look and feel of the phone”, rendering the offer interesting only to those who really, really want a Brikk-customised iPhone 6. But, given that the press release specifically mentions a “4.7-inch, 128GB model” – and a comparison image to match – it is almost certain that some aspects of the upcoming iPhone 6 are all but confirmed some two months before it is launched.
