LG Electronics Malaysia recently announced two of its latest Ultra HD (UHD) TVs in Malaysia, which are the UB980T and the UB850T from their next-generation TV line-up. Both of these lineups have screen sizes ranging from 49 inches to a gigantic 84 inch screen and 4K display resolutions.
On top of that, these new TVs are powered by webOS, the mobile platform that LG has converted to its smart TV lineup. Called Smart+, this software features an easy-to-use interface, and even allows users to browse through content and services without having to navigate away from their current viewing choice.
Meanwhile, the Tru-ULTRA HD Engine in the UHD TVs up-scales any video format into a crisp, near-ULTRA HD picture quality. LG also embeds the LG UHD TVs with the latest Triple XD Engine that delivers better color, picture quality and performance over its previous generation engine. Finally, these TVs also support 4K 3D+ technology, which includes a battery-free CINEMA 3D glasses that delivers flicker-free and sharper 3D images.
Along with a nice 4K display, LG did not forget about the audio quality on the UHD TVs too. LG claims that its TVs’ speakers have a similar impact to that of a multi-channel, forward-facing speaker system. In addition to that, the LG UB980T also features integrated Harman/Kardon speakers for a crisp, clear and distortion-free sound quality to complete the immersive experience.
Now let’s talk about the price. The LG UHD TV UB980T’s 65-inch screen will be priced at RM17,999, while its bigger 84-inch model’s retail price is yet to be announced – LG states that it will be made available in August 2014. As for the UB850T, the 55-inch and 49-inch UHD TV’s are priced at RM7,999 and RM5,799 respectively.
