Earlier this year, AMD has revealed its own take on dynamic refresh rate for displays through a project that the company called FreeSync. In general, its main objective is similar to NVIDIA G-Sync which is to solve screen tearing and stuttering but instead of using propriety technology, AMD choose to utilize a VESA open standard called Adaptive-Sync.
We managed to catch it in action at AMD booth during our recent adventure at Computex 2014 in Taiwan last month and while FreeSync is still not yet in its final form, all we can say is that seeing is believing. Expect to hear more from AMD regarding Project FreeSync within the next few months as the company is gearing up to bring the technology to the market.
