These days, the popularity of the point & shoot camera is in a decline due in part to the advancement of smartphone camera technology. One of the biggest and best players in the game, Nokia (Well, Microsoft) has signed a patent licensing deal with camera giants Canon that allows both companies to access each others technological marvels.
Granted, this may be just to cover their own respective behinds in times where lawsuits can be fired off at a moments notice. If we look at things in a different light, it may be the starting of an open door where Lumia Pureview technology gets improved by Canon glass and subsequently the marriage of the two technologies to one.
One thing is for sure, to get ahead in this world where technology is reaching its plateau, partnerships and collaborations are rapidly becoming an essential element.
