The lacklustre performance of HTC has been no secret for the past year with some pundits even saying that the year would be make or break for the Taiwanese manufacturer with the HTC One M8 being the lynchpin for that. Thankfully, HTC have proven that they are still a force to be reckoned with and that they can make a successful handset yet, turning a first quarterly profit in a year.
The HTC One M8 has captivated the market with its phenomenal build quality and incredible design driving even our very own Pang to say in his review:
According to unaudited financials for Q2/14 HTC made a profit of NT2.26B (RM242M) from NT65B (RM7B) in revenue which is down from this same time last year. It’s also worth noting that compared to Q1/14 HTC’s revenue has doubled this quarter.
This is certainly great news for HTC and it looks like the Taiwanese giants are back on track. It’s up to the next device released to see if they end the year on a high or will they slump back into the funk from a the last year?
