After both DiGi and Maxis unveiled their postpaid bundles for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Celcom has finally unveiled its Mi 3 postpaid bundle. Offering the smartphone as part of four postpaid plans, the Mi 3 is available for free with three of them.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 is now available with Celcom First postpaid plans with the mPro mobile Internet plan, which offers a generous 5GB of data per month. The breakdown of the postpaid plans are as below:
A quick comparison between Celcom’s bundle for the Mi 3 with DiGi and Maxis does indicate that Celcom’s offering is pretty competitive, offering the lowest cost of ownership (and incidentally, the highest as well). Each postpaid plan also come with 5GB of data, the highest quota offered by all three telcos, and that should appeal to those who consume plenty of mobile Internet.
But, as with all three telcos’ offerings, the contract duration may put many off. After all, while Celcom is offering the device for free for three out of the four bundles, many would rather not be tied to a two-year contract. Another point to note is the pretty steep advance payment that is being charged. Even though it will be returned back to customers, charging a minimum of RM800 and up to RM1000 as advance payment seems rather excessive – considering that the smartphone itself only costs RM769.
Regardless, the Mi 3 can now be purchased with a Celcom First contract at participating Celcom outlets nationwide. For more information, check out the company’s product page for the Mi 3.
