EDIT: After a further look into this, it looks like the 1s time was indeed too good to be true. Xiaomi Taiwan’s Facebook Page says it’s 21 seconds, still impressive though! Thanks lokgotz!
This year, Xiaomi have become king of the flash-sale, selling incredible amounts of devices in an increasingly short time. In Malaysia they have been known to sell out significant numbers of powerbanks and the Mi 3 in minutes but it looks like Taiwan has everyone beat. According to Xiaomi Taiwan, they sold 10,000 units of the incredibly priced RedMi Note in just 1 second.
Apparently, Xiaomi Taiwan received around 40,000 reservations for the RedMi Note in jut 12 hours, not accounting for the amount of reservations since the 20th itself. It’s worth noting that this is Xiaomi’s first entry of the RedMi Note in the Taiwanese market and it’s always the first time that ends the fastest.
If this is any indication of popularity, Malaysians who are looking to get it when it releases in July need to get their F5 fingers primed and ready for action. It may not be 10,000 units in 1 second but at a ridiculous RM509 RRP, it’s going to be gone faster than you think.
