They might have spent a productive time at Computex 2014 but it turns out that Dell has quietly lined up plenty of new products for Malaysian market. For the past three days, the company has unveiled new laptops, All-in-One PCs, 4K monitors and workstations that are made for both enterprise and consumer sectors.
Leading the charge is the latest generation of Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme which is the fourth iteration in the series’ history. Available in the form of 12 and 14 inch models, this particular series is designed to survive harsh working conditions that certain users encounters such as those in military service, public safety, manufacturing and industrial settings; just to name a few.
At the same time, there is also the new Dell Precision M2800 Mobile Workstation. First unveiled to the world in April, the ISV-certified 15.6-inch M2800 still packs quite a firepower despite being positioned as an entry level model in the series. Equipped with into it are an UltraSharp display with HD and full HD options, a choice of 4th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, an AMD FirePro graphics card, and up to 16GB of RAM as well as up to 1TB storage.
In addition to the rugged laptops and mobile workstation above, the latest line-up of Dell OptiPlex All-in-One PCs will also be made available in our market soon. One such model under the family is the 23-inch OptiPlex 9030 which is said to be the most secure commercial AIO PC in the market at the moment as it is equipped with layers after layers of security measures.
They include Trusted Platform Module 1.2, Intel Anti-Theft Technology and Dell Data Protection solutions alongside physical implementations such as chassis lock slot support, lockable port cover and many more. For organizations that require smaller AIO, the 19.5-inch OptiPlex 3030 will also be made available in Malaysia very soon.
Moving on to the consumer space, plenty of new 2014 Dell Inspiron laptops and AIO PCs are also now available in Malaysia. Divided into the 3000 Series which is made to cater entry-level market and the more mainstream 5000 Series, these new devices come in the form of 14 and 15-inch laptops together with 20 and 23-inch AIO PCs.
According to Dell, the company has made a number of improvements to the 2014 Inspiron 3000 and 5000 series laptops mainly in terms of styling, form factor and performance. Furthermore, the company will also be adding the newly announced Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 laptop as part of its line-up for Malaysian market in July.
Last but not least, Dell has also announced the availability of its new UltraSharp 4K monitors in our market. Suitable for professionals in the related field such as videography and animations as well as for consumers that are into having Ultra HD viewing experience for entertainment and beyond, both 32-inch UP3214Q and 24-inch UP2414Q are not only factory calibrated but also offers 99% AdobeRGB color gamut.
In terms of pricing, the Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme starts at RM 12,300 onwards for the 14-inch model while the 12-inch variant starts at a slightly higher price point of RM 14,700. At the same time, the Dell Precision M2800 is priced from RM 5,188 onwards but no such information are available for OptiPlex 3030 and OptiPlex 9030 AIO PCs at the moment.
As for the 2014 Inspiron 3000 series, the 14-inch laptop carries a starting price tag of RM 1,299 while the 15-inch variant starts from RM 1,499 and the AIO PCs goes from RM 1,799 onwards. Being a higher-end offering, the pricing for 2014 Inspiron 5000 series starts at a higher mark; from RM 2,099 for 14-inch model, RM 2,349 for 15-inch variant, and RM 3,799 for the AIO PC.
Meanwhile, the official price for the new Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 laptop which is expected to arrive in Malaysia in July is not available at the moment. However, Dell representative earlier today has stated that the device will cost around RM 1,400 for the dual-core model and RM 1,500 for the quad-core variant.
Not to forget, the new Dell UltraSharp 32-inch UP3214Q goes for RM 11,099 and the smaller, 24-inch UP2414Q is priced at RM 3,899 with both are protected by 3-years warranty. To learn more about all these newly released products from Dell, just point your web browser to www.dell.com.my.
