Gaming peripheral company Razer has announced a game controller designed specially for the iPhone 5 and 5S. The company has been experimenting with mobile gaming for a while, and this sort of device does not come as a surprise. Junglecat is an iPhone case that turns your Apple device into a something resembling the Sony Xperia Play.
Featuring the full range of directional pad, AXBY buttons, and bumpers, it should overcome the issues involved with playing games on a touchscreen. At 20mm of thickness, it might be a little thicker than most iPhone users are used to. Although the option to have a proper controller at all time will offset that issue for the people who would buy this sort of thing.
Junglecat will work via the Junglecat app, which is not yet actually available on the Appstore. The app is similar to the Razer Synapse program which allows for customising user profiles and remapping buttons. It will also act as a link to iOS games compatible with the Junglecat controller, making it less likely that a gamer finds an incompatible title.
Razer Junglecat will be available in July 2014 for a RRP of RM299.99.
