Looked at who just fired the first salvo from this year edition of Computex in Taiwan: it’s one of the hometown giants, Acer! The company has unveiled plenty of devices over there during the weekend which includes its first ever wearable product, the Acer Liquid Leap smartband.
Featuring a 1-inch touch display which is nestled within its rubber wristband, the new Acer Liquid Leap offers the usual set of functionalities that are becoming a norm among wearable devices. This include fitness tracking such as steps, distance, calories, and sleeping cycles. Additionally, the Liquid Leaps also displays incoming calls, and SMS notifications.
Users are also able to access and control music library on their smartphone through the Liquid Leap that is also complies to the IPX7 waterproof standard. Built with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, Acer claims that the smartband’s battery is able to last for up to 7 days.
Available in Moonstone White, Mineral Black, Aquamarine, Fragrant Pink, and Vivid Orange, the Acer Liquid Leap is scheduled for release in Q3 2014 and will be bundled together with Acer Liquid Jade smartphone (more on that later) in selected markets. The release date and pricing for Malaysian market are known yet at the moment but we’ll keep you posted once we receive update from Acer.
