If you must know, today is the 40th anniversary of Rubik’s Cube. Yes, the colorful cube puzzle is indeed that old. To celebrate the occasion, the folks at Google have come out with an interactive, digital version of the popular puzzle and made it available right on the search engine’s home page.
The cube first appeared as an animation but it enlarged itself once users clicked on it. Once that happened, users are then free to rotate the rows and columns within the cube as well as the cube itself in order to solve the puzzle. Google has also put a counter on the top of the search box so that one is able to know the amount of moves he or she has made.
Of course, interactive Google Doodle is nothing new though. In case you want to take a break while trying to solve the Rubik’s Cube, you can check out previous Google Doodle in this archive. Good luck, have fun!
