According to internet sources it looks like web video giant YouTube is looking to close a deal which will have them acquire game streaming website Twitch.Tv. While the deal is said to be in various stages of completion, if this goes through, one of the internets most visited sites will be firmly in Google’s hands. The acquisition makes a whole lot of sense because since its inception in 2011, Twitch has become the premier location to visit to watch Pro-Gamers and even your average joe stream gaming sessions. As The Verge rightly points out, while YouTube is the king of online video, they missed the boat with livestream functionality and while they are doing a great job with event like Coachella, this deal with Twitch may just push it to the next level.
