The day has finally come for Red Bull Air Race to go full smoke on at Putrajaya. Among the agenda for today is the qualifying round for the Master Class category and the race day for Challenger Cup category. Before the madness start though, we were allowed to walk around the (wet) hangar earlier today to take a closer look at the beautiful planes that the fearless Red Bull Air Race competitors will race throughout the next two days.
It was really a wet morning, as you can see from these images:

As the heavy rain in the morning has affected the schedule, the Challenger Cup – the category where the sole Malaysian competitor, Datuk Halim Othman will compete – will take place slightly later at 3:20pm instead of 3:00pm. Here he is, already eager to fly:
Datuk Halim Othman is not waltzing, he is just practicing the route of the race – just like Master Class competitor from Japan, Yoshihide Muroya as shown earlier.
Meanwhile, do stay tuned for the results later today and to see if our pilot is able to make a postive mark at his Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup debut here from Putrajaya. For more information and up-to-date news from the event, do check out www.redbullairrace.com.
