What do we have here? Samsung Mobile has just posted a teaser on its official Twitter account, indicating of its next global event happening next month. Interestingly, this event, to be called Samsung Galaxy Premiere 2014, could be a tablet-centric event.
Posted with a “Tab into Color” theme, the teaser does not show much besides what appears to be side profiles of what is expected to be the device that will be unveiled. Given that the most recent tablet Samsung that’s been making the rumour rounds recently is the Galaxy Tab S, this could be the global launch event for Samsung’s next Android-powered tablet.
The rumour mills peg the Galaxy Tab S to pack a octa-core Exynos 5420 chipset, 8MP and 2.1MP rear and front camera sensors, Android 4.4 KitKat, and a super sharp 2560 x 1600 AMOLED display. The Galaxy Tab S is also said to feature an integrated fingerprint sensor, and will be available in two screen sizes – 8.4 and 10.5 inches across.
We’re not convinced that Samsung will be holding a huge event for just one device. Last year’s Samsung Premiere event saw an incredible seven devices announced, including the ATIV Book 9 Plus, ATIV Book 9 Lite, ATIV Q, and the Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy NX camera. While there won’t be as many devices announced this time round, we’re pretty sure the Galaxy Tab S won’t be the only device announced. Perhaps it’s also time for the Galaxy S5 Prime to finally make an appearance?
