Here’s a heads up for those of you who are eager to purchase the Xiaomi Mi 3 when it is launched in Malaysia next week. According to a post in Xiaomi Malaysia’s official Facebook page, the company will only be selling 4000 units of the flagship Mi 3 on May 20. Yup, just 4000 units.
While 4000 units does seem pretty low considering the immense interest in the Mi 3, it is a well-known fact by now that this is something Xiaomi has been known for doing. A quick search back through Xiaomi Singapore’s Facebook page reveals that the company only allocated 1000 units of the Mi 3 when it was available on March 20. That being said, the company also sold 5000 units of the Redmi – something that Malaysians will not yet enjoy next week.

We’re pretty sure that many Malaysians will be unhappy at the extremely low number of units available for sale. Already, judging by the comments on the Facebook post, there is a lot of anger. It is unlikely, though that Xiaomi will budge on the initial amount of Mi 3 for sale, so…come launch day, you might want to consider setting up camp with your electronic device of choice in a location that has the fastest Internet speed, because the Mi 3 will most likely be gone in a matter of minutes.
