So, HTC One M8 is not the only new smartphone that HTC Malaysia has launched today. Accompanying the company’s new flagship device is two lower-tiered devices; namely the Desire 816 and Desire 610 which were first announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
That being said, these two devices are not low-end products once you consider the hardware that HTC has equipped into them. Among such component is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, in addition to being LTE-enabled.
However, there are plenty of other factors that separated them from each other. For example, the HTC Desire 816 comes with 5.5-inch 720p display while Desire 610 has smaller 4.7-inch 960×540 display. The Desire 816 also carries more RAM at 1.5GB as compared to Desire 610’s 1GB RAM.
Same goes for clock speed, as Desire 816 runs at 1.6GHz while Desire 610 is tuned to 1.2GHz. Desire 816 also carries bigger sensor for both of its main (13-megapixels) and front (5-megapixels) cameras when Desire 610 features 8-megapixels rear camera and 1.3-megapixels front camera.
Both smartphones are expected to be released at the end of May or early June with Desire 816 is expected to carry a price tag of RM 1199 while Desire 610 will be priced at RM 999.
