After the whole patent issue with previous attempts for portable battery packs, and a long duration of having to lug your charger everywhere you go, BatteryBox have come out with a 12,000mAh battery that can add about 12 hours of extra juice for the MacBook Air and about 6 hours on a MacBook Pro. The BatteryBox can also charge any device via USB as it will have its own MagSafe connector.
That’s not all the Battery Box is packing, with a technology called BatteryOS which is an anti degredation power management system, it promises to keep the battery working at 95% capacity even after 5 years. When connected to the laptop, the BatteryBox bypasses the laptops actual battery and feeds the power direct to the system, this is so you don’t waste cycles on your battery, letting it live a little longer.
You can preorder one of your own at US$129 from their site here.
